Who are we?
Mrs. Chinyere Emma-Iwuoha (aka Mrs. Emmanuel)
Ms. Lisa deMauro (aka Ms. D)
Mrs. Emmanuel handles most of the counseling concerns for students in grades K-6
Ms. D. handles 7th and 8th grade.
Both counselors work with the Pre-K students and either of us is happy to help any student or to respond to concerns from any parent.
What do we do?
- Work together with families, teachers and administration to support the school community.
- Provide counseling services to our students in areas of academic, career, social/personal development.
- Help students to learn the foundation for success in the future, with emphasis on Knowledge, Attitudes and Skills.
- Respond to problems or concerns as they arise.
- Offer referrals for prevention and intervention services and activities.
- Continue to monitor the social/personal development of students’ ACTIVE participation in REMOTE LEARNING.
- Provide support for students in development of self-confidence, coping skills, ability to manage transition/change, social maturity(self-management).
- Work with families to create applications to middle and high schools.

Our counseling mission is to help students gain the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve academic success, enjoy personal and social fulfillment, be informed and engaged citizens, and have access to wide college and career options.
